On the Scene: The 2014 ELLE Style Awards

This is a huge week for awards shows across the pond! The 2014 ELLE Style Awards took place tonight in good old London town with our favorite fashionistas and sartorially-savvy gents posing on the red carpet in high-fashion looks.

Check out the evening’s most-noteworthy ensembles:

Helen Lasichanh and hubby Pharrell Williams won best dressed couple of the night in my book! I loved her pink suit and his printed trousers.

Rita Ora was truly the belle of the ball in Marchesa.

Forget about ladies in red! Tinie Tempah was the guy in the fiery shade for the night in a double-breasted tux. Hot!

Jourdan Dunn looked every bit the model in a Tom Ford mini dress. Work Ms. Dunn!

Katy Perry went for retro-inspired glamour in a Vivienne Westwood floral print number. Yes to Katy’s curves in this dress.

Like Jourdan, Jessie J also opted for Tom Ford, flaunting her figure in a Spring 2014 pink cutout mini dress and lace-up thigh-high boots. The dress was amazing and showed Ford’s design prowess when it hit the runway, but it didn’t convey that same sultriness on Jessie here. The boots also disrupted the look, not truly giving the frock its time to shine.

Karolina Kurkova was covered in feathers and PVC at the awards show in Fyodor Golan Fall 2014. She certainly turned a few heads in this!

Emma Watson went for a fresh and fun spin on the classic color palette of black and white in a look from Giambattista Valli’s Spring 2014 Haute Couture collection. Stunning no?

Cara Delevingne showed some leg in a kimono-style LBD.

Ellie Goulding wore my favorite silhouette, slipping into a recently-debuted Matthew Williamson Fall 2014 jumpsuit. Hot, though I would’ve loved more glamorous hair and makeup here.

Poppy Delevingne flashed a peek of midriff in a cropped lace top and high-waist midi skirt from Emilia Wickstead’s Fall 2014 collection. I loved the ‘fit, though the snakeskin pumps left a bit to be desired.

Designer Henry Holland threw a leather biker jacket over his tux, accented with a bow tie. This look gave me feelings: hi Henry!

Petite beauty Kylie Minogue stuck to the tried and true LBD in a strapless, bow-detailed design.

Model Arizona Muse kept it simple in a white lasercut dress.

It was all about prints for ELLE UK EIC Lorraine Candy in a Peter Pilotto dress and Jimmy Choo Alia pumps. I thoroughly enjoyed this! This is what I would expect from the EIC of a high-fashion glossy.

I wasn’t a fan of Lily Allen’s bangs, but her Roland Mouret gown was the epitome of chic.

David Gandy is always impeccably dressed and this was no exception as he sported a check three-piece suit.

Suki Waterhouse slipped that coveted $1,992 Burberry Satin Trim Tailored Jacket over a long black gown.

Model Barbara Palvin was menswear-inspired in a black suit and turtleneck. The simplicity of this look was refreshing.

Charlotte Dellal of Charlotte Olympia offset a conservative suit with a leopard hair accessory and her own accoutrements including a $995 Kitty Square Acrylic Box Clutch and Dolly pumps. What a great way to uplift an otherwise plain look!

Clearly, the suit was a go-to silhouette for ladies as Daisy Lowe also opted for the pairing, though flashing some skin with a sheer inset blouse. Her tousled top knot and dark lips gave the classic ensemble some edge.

Hot! or Hmm… Katy Perry’s The Rolling Stones Concert Vintage Leather Bustier, Mary Katrantzou Printed Leather Skirt, and Giuseppe Zanotti Leather Thigh High Boots

Katy Perry joined The Rolling Stones onstage during their “Beast of Burden” tour stop in Las Vegas. She looked rocker chic in a vintage leather bustier, a Mary Kantrantzou Printed Leather Skirt, and a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Leather Thigh High Boots:

She finished her look with loose waves and dark lips.

Her skirt resembles the back of this $2,087 Matchu Khan Printed Leather Skirt from the brand.

I wouldn’t suggest that most try this for everyday, but it’s definitely a hot onstage look.

Katy Perry Discusses Marriage With Ex-Husband Russell Brand In New Book

Katy Perry has reportedly decided to write a book that includes details about her failed marriage to Russell Brand.

The 27-year-old singer and the 37-year-old British comic split after being wed for 14 months, with Russell filing for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ in 2011.

It has been speculated that Russell became frustrated with Katy’s partying and they rarely spent time together due to their hectic work schedules.

Russell has written two books about his life already and it is rumoured he is actively at work on a third tome, which discusses his relationship with Katy.

Apparently Katy has been offered a £2 million deal to write her own tell-all and it is thought she has accepted the proposition.

‘Several publishers have been after Katy for a while. She decided to go ahead so fans don’t have a one-sided story when Russell publishes another Booky Wook,’ a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Katy and Russell began dating in 2009 and got engaged following a whirlwind romance. The pair tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in October 2010.

Katy is now in a committed relationship with fellow musician John Mayer, who like Russell previously had a reputation for being a womaniser.

Russell has been romantically linked to around 20 women since his divorce from Katy. He is now said to be seeing New Zealand singer Kimbra.
